A/N: God, I haven't written youfiction in forever. I can't believe I've stopped for too long. I know this one isn't too interesting for now but I will try to make it interesting in the future.
Your first instinct of the house was that it was too dark. You were use to the many windows of your own home and this place had few. Everything smelled strongly of must and the dust tickled at your nose. You set down your bag and turned to the left to look for signs of human life. You found none. The house was empty.
As you drew towards a staircase, you heard soft voices from above. They were hushed. You softly climbed the staircase, looking down a hallway and seeing a door partly cracked and you walked to it, placing your ear to the door.
“Harry’s decided to leave school?! Is he crazy?!!!” came an exasperated female’s voice.
“What can we do Molly? The boy won’t listen to us. And we both know what he has to do.”, a man exclaimed that point.
You withdrew from the door and placed your hand up to it and knocked softly, the door pushing open. A homely red-haired women and a balding man stared at you.
“Who are you?”, asked the man, getting up and raising his wand to you.
You stepped back, “Watch out. I was told to come here by Professor Dumbledore last year before his passing.”
The woman grabbed her husband’s arm, “What is your name dear?”
You stared at her and replied with, “Dahlia Malfoy.”
The man seemed to jump, but the woman remained calm, “Are you the niece of Lucius Malfoy?”
You rolled your eyes, “Actually I’m his cousin, but call me what you will.”
Molly stood up, walking over to you, “Do you know why Albus asked you here?”
You looked at her like she was crazy, “He wanted me as a teacher at Hogwarts. I just graduated the year before last at Durmstrang . I’ve taught Potions there for a year now.”
Molly nodded, “You are her then.”
You stared once more, “Well I am definitely a her.”
The man looked horrified, “Molly, she’s a Malfoy.”
Molly looked at the man, “Arthur, it’s her.”
Arthur stopped, “Oh my.”
You glared, “Why am I so amazing?!”
Molly smiled, “You can do wandless magic, yes?”
You smiled, “Of course.”
Molly walked over to you and out into the hallway, “Follow me.”
You whistled for your bag and caught it and followed Molly to a room at the end of the hallway. Sitting in the room were several red haired children and one blond girl. You leaned against the doorway as Molly announced who you were.
Molly walked back to you, “I’ll leave you to them now.”
With that she walked out and shut the door behind her.
The people in the room glanced at you and you gritted your teeth and dropped your bag and waved your hand to bring a chair to you. You sat down hard in it and reached into your bag and pulled out a book.
“Hey Malfoy!” called one red-haired twin.
You ignored him, biting your lip. You looked at the book of dark spells. ‘The Grotos Spell is a torture spell just slight of an Unforgivable Curse. It uses mind control to make a person hallucinate…’
“Yo! Malfoy!” called the other twin.
Again you ignored them until you heard a polite voice say, “Excuse me Dahlia.”
You lifted your head, “Yes?”
A nice looking red-head with several burning scars and freckles smiled at you, “I have a case file of sorts to give you. It’ll bring you up to date on the Order.”
You nodded, “That’s good.”
He smiled, leaning over and handing it to you, “There you go and I’m here to help with whatever I can. I don’t mind helping.”
You smiled genuinely at him, “Thank you….I don’t seem to know your name.”
He placed his hand out, “I’m Charlie Weasley. This is Bill,” he indicated to a long haired man next to him, “that is Fleur, Bill’s wife, on the other side of me you have Fred and George, the resident pains in the ass,” Fred and George smiled, “and in the corner over there you have Ronald and Ginny.” You nodded with each name, “Nice to meet you all. I go by Dahlia only. I’m not too happy with being affiliated to the Malfoy name. I hate it.”
Charlie nodded, “I’ll make sure of that.”
You leaned back in the chair, eyeing the file, “So that’s what this place is huh?”
Charlie looked at you, “What?”
You looked at him, slightly embarrassed for blurting out, “This is the Order of the Phoenix yes?”
Charlie raised an eyebrow, “You didn’t know where you were going?”
You shook your head, “No. Dumbledore told me to come here, that he had a job here that would help me get away from Death Eaters. In times like theses, who could resist?”
Bill looked at you, “How is this going to get you away from Death Eater activity? We’re right in the middle of it.”
You shrugged, “I don’t know. Maybe he meant this house. I’m not sure he wanted me as an Order member.”
Bill sat in thought for a moment, “You have some kind of special talent right?”
You nodded, “Wandless magic, but that’s it. The rest of me is dull and boring.”
Charlie looked aghast, “You can do wandless magic?!”
You waved your hand slightly, his chair moving across the room, nearly crashing into your chair, “Well what do you think?”
“Bloody hell.” You heard from the corner.
That was the first time you had even seen the youngest (or so you thought youngest) Weasley look at you and speak.
You grinned, “Why thank you…Ronald?”
He flinched, “Ron.”
You laughed loudly, “I figured.”
Charlie leaned over and placed a hand on your shoulder, “Maybe we should go take a look at that file in another room.”
You nodded, “Probably.”
You stood up, grabbing your back and turning back to the crowd of Weasleys, “See you all later.”
*** Charlie led you back down the dark hallway and then down the dark staircase to a door that opened up to a dimly lit library. Sitting comfortably in a chair was a weathered man with slightly gray hair and shabby clothes. So there were people here after all.
“Remus.”, said Charlie, getting the man’s attention.
The man looked up from a book, his face forlorn, “Yes Charlie?”
Charlie moved his head towards you and you shyly raised your hand and waved, “Hello.”
Remus stood up, walking over to you and put out his hand to greet you; which you accepted, “I’m assuming you are the Ms. Dahlia that Molly and Arthur spoke so fondly of.”
You nodded; you seemed to be doing a lot of that today, “Yes sir. And you are?”
Remus smiled, “Remus Lupin. Here for your service whenever you need it.”
You grinned, “Thank you Remus.”
He nodded, “No problem Dahlia. In the meantime I shall leave you two with your business.”
As Remus walked out the door, he leaned over to Charlie and whispered, “She’s pretty cute.”
You blushed and stared at the wall, having heard Remus’ comment. Charlie tapped on your shoulder and gestured to a couch, “Have a seat.”
You did as he asked and sat on the rather nice but old couch. He took a seat next to you and took the file out of your hand, “Hey! What’d you do that for? I thought…”
He interrupted you, “It was a distraction.”
You moved away from him, “Then why are we down here!?!”
He placed his hand on yours, “Shhhhh. Look, I couldn’t tell you everything in front of the others.”
You raised a brow at him, curious now, “Couldn’t tell me what?”
Charlie removed his hand from yours, “Why you’re here.”
A/N:Whatcha think?
