Disclaimer: Nothing you reconize is mine. I didn't make any money off of it. The plot is however mine, and if you want to use it, please ask.

---
Here you go, chapter 5. It is kinda choppy, to me it seems like 2 chapters in one but there was no good place to break it off.

---------

A week later you were sitting in your dorm, studding. You couldn’t bring yourself to face Remus. In all the classes you had with him, all but divination, you waited until the last minuet to come in, so he was already seated. What the hell had gotten into you? You had acted like a wanton temptress, completely embarrassing yourself in front of James and Sirius as well.

The urge to go to the boy’s dorm and curl up in Remus’ bed and let his scent comfort you was almost overwhelming, but he would know. The ‘marauders’ had gone to Hogsmade with the rest of the school, that was allowed to go, but you had declined James offer to go. So if you went to Remus’ bed, he might not catch you but he would be able to smell you when he got back.

A tapping on the window broke you out of you reverie. Sighing you let in the beautiful brown owl. She hooted and stuck out her leg to let you take the letter. It had a beautiful watercolor of a butterfly on the outside. You opened it hesitantly knowing it was from one of the ’marauders’. You were pleasantly surprised, however, to see it was from Remus.

My beautiful Butterfly,
I don’t know what I’ve done to make you so mad at me, but whatever it is, I am deeply sorry. I am also sorry for the other night, I should have never let you stay with me, knowing how close the full moon was. I don’t think I could ever live with myself if the wolf did anything to you (although I don’t think he would because, you’ll remember I told you, he is very fond of you). So, although it hardly needs to be said, that can never happen again.

You are a wonderful girl, nay woman, for me to sully just because the full moon is near. You deserve to be with someone who can be gentle and loving your first time (the wolf has assured me of your virginity) not a salivating werewolf.

I hope we can move past what I almost did to you and still be friends. You are one of my closest friends like the three clowns, I believe you called them, and it hurts my heart knowing I almost ruined it. Not the wolf, but me, as I wanted it as much, if not more, than him. Please forgive my transgression, you have no idea how delectable you are.

Dumbledore would also like me to remind you not to tell anyone. I think even he would blush if he knew his message was contained in this desperate plea for forgiveness.

All my love,
Remus

P.s. Please except this owl as a token of my affection, however misguided.

“How lame is it, showering me with pretty words and a gift, asking me for forgiveness when there is nothing to forgive?” you asked the owl and she answered you with a hoot, making you smile, “Well then lame shall be your name,” you snickered, “Although slightly classier, Claudia,” she hooted again. “Alright I have to write him back.” You pulled out a blank sheet of paper, dipped your quill in your ink and began writing.

My Sexy Werewolf,
How dare you say the entire thing was your fault! Apparently there were two, or three if you count the wolf, people there so it couldn’t have been ENTIRELY your fault. I wasn’t complaining, hell I was the instigator! So, Mr. Lupin, if you are going to lay blame, be so kind as to lay the blame were it belongs.

Why can it never happen again? Clearly we were both enjoying ourselves. Oh and Remus I have to apologize, I was never mad at you. I was slightly humiliated at my behavior and couldn’t bring myself to face you. You say I am delectable, but you, my beautiful lupine, are a god.

Please assure Dumbledore that my silence will be kept, and I’m sure he would blush at the thought that his reply was contained in this love letter, for that is what it has become.

Oh, and thank you for the owl, she is beautiful. Her name is Claudia.

All the love in the world,
Butterfly.

P.S. Maybe you can tell me, why does the wolf consider me your mate?

You sent Claudia on her way and a second later a raven flew in the window with a caw.

“Well hello, Mars. What have you got for me?” He stuck his leg out and glared at you. With a chuckle you took the letter and he flew out angrily. Amazing, he had the same temperament as his owner.

Dear Venus,
It has been a long time, has it not? You have been avoiding people since your confrontation with the werewolf, did he hurt you in any way? You know if he did, I will hurt him.

Are you mad at me? If you are I will hurt him. Please talk to me, I miss your insults.
Love,
Your Eros.

You smiled. Severus was always so protective of you, but if anyone ever asked him he would deny it like his life depended on it. Throwing your school robe on, you went to the one place you knew he’d be. You found the dark boy by the bushes near the lake.

With a grin you plopped down next to him, “you know, someone so ugly really shouldn’t be out in public.”

“Hi, Venus,” he said not looking up from what he was writing but smiling one of his rare smiles.

“If you smiled like that more, people would like you.”

“I highly doubt that.”

You hugged him lightly, he still wasn’t used to affectionate touches, “It worked for me, didn’t it?”

Chuckling he hugged you back, “It did, didn’t it?”

“Yes. What were you working on?” You kept an arm around him.

“Nothing for you to worry you pretty head with,” he used his most condescending tone.

You clucked your tongue, “now, Severus, you know my pretty head is filled with intelligent thoughts.”

“Ok, I just don’t want to tell you.”

“Why not?” You rubbed his back encouragingly.

“It’s something for Lucius.”

“Severus,” you warned.

“You’re not my mother!” he said angrily.

You moved away from him, just as mad, “maybe not, but I do care about you.”

“You don’t know me at all!”

“You won’t let me!”

He shook his head sadly, “I couldn’t bear to lose you. If you knew me, really knew me, you would turn away.”

“Then you never really had me, did you?” You went to get up but he grabbed your arm and whispered your name, desperately.

“Please, I think you are the only one who cares what happens to me.”

You pulled him close, “that’s not true, Eros.”

“Who else would care? Your buddies Potter and Lupin?”

“Well no,” he chuckled bitterly, “but Dumbledore would care.”

“Great, a teacher.”

“I’m serious, Eros. I don’t know what I’d do without you.”

“You’d probably be f**king the werewolf.”

“I’m pretty close to doing that with you in my life.”

“What?!” He exploded, “are you that stupid?!” he had stood up and was pacing in front of you.

“What are you talking about?”

“If you f*ck him, I mean really f*ck him, he will mark you.”

“I know that,” you said shamefacedly.

“Do you know what him marking you fully means?!”

“H-he mates for life. After he marks me, he won’t be with anyone else until I die.”

“Do you always half ass things!?”

“What do you mean?”

“If you are going to research something, do it right! Not only can he not be with anyone else, neither can you! And if you are, he will know, and rest assured he will hunt the poor sap down and kill him, painfully and slowly. Then he will come after you, his unfaithful mate. It’s unspeakable the things he will do to you. You two will be linked, your souls will be joined. When you, hell if you, sleep with him and he decides you’re his mate he will mark you before you could stop him. To werewolves it’s marriage. Even the ministry acknowledges it.” He looked thoughtful, “I suppose you could sleep with him, and if he doesn’t mark you, you’re safe, but it’s a hell of a risk to take for an orgasm.”

“Oh, there’s no doubt that he would mark me.”

“What do you mean?” He asked stopping in front of you and looking down with his intense gaze.

“He considers me his mate,” you said softly.

“When did this happen!? What did you do with him?!” He pulled you up bodily and held you by your upper arms. Not tight like Sirius but enough to keep you where you were.

“If you know what’s good for you, Snape, you will take your hands off her.”

You both looked to the side to see Remus standing there with his wand pointed at Severus.

“Remus, wait,” you said as Severus dropped his arms and stepped back from you, wary of the wand pointed at him.

“Did he hurt you?” Remus growled reaching out, grabbing your wrist and pulling you behind him.

“I could ask the same of you, Lupin,” Severus said casually as he gathered up his papers, “see ya later, Venus.” He sauntered off.

Remus turned to you and breathed deeply, “what did he do to you? His smell is all over you.”

“I hugged him.”

Remus eyes widened as he grabbed your wrist and pulled you along after him, “here isn’t the place,” he whispered, “the wolf is mad, but he won’t hurt you, ok?”

“Where are we going?”

“Some place where we won’t be heard, you’ll be safe, ok?”

“Ok.” You wouldn’t let him know you were scared. If you wanted to start a relationship with him, this is something you’d have to deal with. Remus was generally a very calm guy, but the wolf had a very foul temper.

He led you to the Room of Requirement and as he paced in front of it you wondered what the room would look like. After the door appeared he followed you in. The room was empty except various pillows on the floor, lit by candles that were floating out of reach and on the other side of the room there was a door, that was it.

“Love, listen to me, ok?” Remus sounded frantic, “I don’t know how long I can keep the wolf in check, maybe the whole time, maybe 2 seconds, so listen quickly,” his eyes were slightly dilated and he was panting softly, “there’s nothing in here that the wolf can use against you, but nothing you can use against him, either, “ you held up your want and he nodded, “That might work. But that door, over there, is where you can go if you get scared. Please, don’t leave though, because the wolf will get more pissed off. I’m sorry you have to witness this but it’s better to do this now, than let it fester with him until closer to the full moon.” He sat down on one of the pillows and held his head in his hands. You stood nervously by the door then moved to sit by the door you were supposed to go through if you got scared. For about ten minuets you sat in silence until Remus took a deep breath and broke it.

“Who told you the wolf considered you our mate?”

“Wasn’t that hard to figure it out,” you said not wanting James and Sirius to get in trouble, scrap that, screw Sirius, you didn’t want James to get in trouble.

“Don’t dodge the question. You’ll only make me madder.”

“James and Sirius let it slip.”

“What?”

“They were teasing. They thought I already knew.

“How would you know?!” he asked savagely.

“They said it was obvious.”

“So that’s why you were being nice, wasn’t it?!” He stood up and started pacing, looking remarkably like Severus.

“No, Remus, of course not.” You stood and went to place a hand on his arm but he slapped it away.

“How could I be so stupid!! Here I was thinking you actually liked me, a werewolf, but you were just feeling sorry for me! Poor Remus, he thinks I’d actually be his mate!”

“Why would I lead you on if I felt sorry for you?” you asked sitting back down.

“I don’t know,” he moaned, “maybe you were…”

“Didn’t you get my letter?” you asked cutting him off.

He nodded, “that’s why I came back, I wanted to talk to you.”

“Then you know how I feel about you.”

Looking at you he blushed slightly, “that I’m a god.”

You nodded, “although James, Peter and Sirius definitely don’t want to shag you.” You hoped he was calm for good when he laughed, but that hope was crushed with the next question.

“What were you doing cohering with Severus Snape? You know he’s into the Dark Arts.”

“Yes, and I seem to be the only one who would care if he went to the dark side.” (A.N. That sounded remarkably like Star Wars, but there was really no other way to put it.)

“Why?!” He turned on you his eyes blazing.

“Because he’s my friend!” You stood up, intent on holding your ground.

“Since when?!”

“Third year, when you four stopped talking to me for a month!”

“Why didn’t you tell us?!“ You took a step back towards the door. Remus saw this and took a deep breath to try and calm down

“Why so you’d never talk to me again?”

Remus smiled softly, “You were already my mate by then, I couldn’t have stayed mad at you.”

“Why me?”

Sitting on a pillow he leaned back against the wall and pulled you onto his lap, “this is going to be hard for me, so bear with me ok?”

You laid back against his chest and kissed his neck gently, “I’ll be here.”

“Remember when we first met?”

“Yeah, on the train, James and Sirius came into the compartment we were both in. Weren’t we both reading?”

He kissed your ear, “You were. I was watching you read. You were so responsive to the words, laughing, your eyes would lighten or darken or widen, you would get ready to turn the page long before you had to. It was so endearing. I knew then that I wanted to be your friend. Then James and Sirius came in and made you laugh. The wolf loved you then, and I was close.” He paused as if waiting for you to say something.

You sighed, “I don’t even remember what I was reading.”

“Some muggle novel about vampires,” he answered with a chuckle. He was trying hard not to kiss you.

“Interview with the Vampire!”

“Anyway,” he said softly, “from then we got closer and, I don’t know when it happened, I fell for you, hard. But there was a problem.”

“What?” you asked then laughed, “sorry, I’m getting into the story.”

“You had better,” he nuzzled your ear, “Because the ending depends on you. Where was I?”

“The problem,” you grabbed his hand and laced your fingers together.

“Yes, Sirius.”

“Black?”

“Do you know another?” he asked with a chuckle, “One day, during third year, Sirius mentioned how cute you were. The wolf wouldn’t, couldn’t, stand that so I told Sirius he couldn’t have you. You know him, if there’s a rule, he has to break it. So a few weeks later, really close to the full moon, Sirius decided to see how far he could push it, he started talking about asking you out. The wolf lost it, and sorry to say, I wasn’t trying all that hard to control him. It took James, Peter and two sixth years to pull me off him. It’s unfair that he forgave me but not you. He seemed to get it in his mind that you led us both on, and you actually had no clue what was going on. Sirius and I decided to keep our distance from you, for a month, you know distance ourselves from the problem. We didn’t want to let a girl come between us.” He paused.

“I understand Remus.” You kissed the back of his hand.

“James and Peter stayed with us, all the time, to keep us from attacking one another, so you got the silent treatment from all of us. I’m sorry we put you through that but…”

You cut him off, “It’s ok Remus. I said I understand and I do. I would have done the same thing.”

“Yes. So after the month was over, I was so excited to see you. Remember, I like attacked you?”

“Yeah.” You smiled remembering after the month of silent treatment you were walking down to the Great Hall and Remus ran around a corner and swept you into his arms, almost sobbing.

“Well, Sirius never seemed to forgive you. In his mind it was your fault.”

“He seems to be starting. He’s started talking to me recently.”

“Or maybe he’s going to make a play for you.” His grip tightened around your waist.

“Oh, Remus, “ you said softly and turned to face him, “it wouldn’t matter if he was.”

“Why not?”

“Because, I’m not interested.”

“In anyone?”

“I’m not interested in Sirius.”

“Why not? He’s good looking, charming, well liked, not a werewolf…”

“I’m not interested in him, but if you are…” you trailed off.

Remus chuckled, “no. Are you interested in anyone?” he asked lowly.

“There’s someone I am really interested in.”

“And who would that be?” He moaned as you licked his cheek lightly.

“I think you know.”

“Still, humor me.”

“Peter,” you whispered evilly.

“What?” He asked digging his fingers into the flesh of your waist.

“Ow! I was kidding,” you squirmed, trying to get him to less his hold.

“Not into pain,” he murmured nipping at your neck.

“Oh, gods, Remus,” you sighed your voice thick with arousal.

“Or maybe you are?” he asked slipping your school robe off and biting your shoulder. As you felt desire course through you, you realized what he was doing, getting ready to mark you. Before anything else could happen you struggled out of his grasp and rushed through the door you were supposed to go through if you got scared.
