darkladyvamp: Your uncle is VERY sexy indeed! Thanks for the review!

DISCLAIMER: DON'T OWN IT!

Chapter Nine:

The next morning, you woke up early to send Molly an owl. After briefly describing what you had found, you sent Pig with the letter. The rest of your Saturday was spent studying for an upcoming Potions test. The next Monday, you received an owl from Molly.

Hello Dear,
I really don’t know what to tell you about those pictures you found. There’s much I need to explain to you about your mother. I know she didn’t really let you into her past, so you probably have no idea what she did before she had you. I don’t think it’s quite suitable to be telling you about this in a letter. Come winter holiday, and we’ll have a long chat. Please let Harry and Hermione know that they are welcome to stay during holiday as well. Also let Ron and Ginny know that we miss them both dearly. I hope you are doing well. Can’t wait to see you next month!
Molly Weasley

You folded up the letter and stuffed it into your pocket. It was time for your first class, so you left the table with your friends and followed the crowd.

With not much excitement happening, November was a relatively boring month. You were anxious to see Molly during the winter holiday so you could finally figure out this mystery of Snape and your mother. Most of your classes, which were N.E.W.T. level, were piling on the homework, and since you’re pretty lazy, Hermione was down your back. Up all night trying to finish long essays or practicing new charms, sleep was something you weren’t used to. When December finally rolled around, you were almost crying for that vacation, so you could actually sleep in. The weekends just weren’t enough; Hermione had you up early to study. It was December 12th, and Double Potions was cancelled because Snape wasn’t feeling well.

“I bet You-Know-Who summoned him again, so he had to leave early,” suggested Ron.

“Well whatever it is, I’m just glad we don’t have class. I didn’t finish that essay he assigned us yesterday,” you said.

“Let’s go put our books away then?” asked Harry.

“Sure,” you followed Harry back to the common room with Hermione and Ron behind. After putting your books away in your dorm, the four of you sat in the common room.

“Do you want to go outside? It’s just snowed a little, so there’s a fresh layer, perfect for snowmen,” proposed Ron.

“Oh I’m up for it! What say you two?” asked Hermione. She looked over at you and Harry. You looked up at Harry with a sparkle in your eye.

“No, I think we’re going to stay here. I think we’re both tired,” Harry quickly stated.

“All right, c’mon Ron.” The two of them left. The common room was quite empty since everyone else was either in class or enjoying the snow outside. Harry got up from the couch.

“I uh left something in my dorm. I think I’m going to go get it. You can come if you like,” he added. He slowly turned to the stairs and walked up them. With a smirk on your face, you followed him to his dorm and shut the door behind you. Harry stopped rummaging through his bag and turned to you.

“You weren’t really looking for something, were you?” you asked.

“Nope,” he smiled. You sat next to him on his bed. “So what do you want to do? We have the place to ourselves for a little, I suppose.”

“Yes we do.” There was an awkward silence that followed. You knew what you wanted to do, and knew Harry was probably thinking the same. But you just didn’t know when it was a good time to move. Finally you turned to Harry, and that’s all he needed. He pulled you into a passionate kiss and his tongue quickly entered your mouth, not wasting any time. You returned with the same lust, but took it further when you began to untie his tie. His hands fumbled with yours and beat you to the shirt. He slowly unbuttoned your shirt, while you just tore off his. You felt him smile while he was kissing you. He finally got the shirt off, and he pulled away to get a breath. His eyes lowered to your shirtless chest, as you gasped for air. He smiled and went back into the kiss, his hands slowly inching towards your back. You felt his fingers grasp the clasp of your bra. As he started to slowly unlatch it, you heard footsteps approaching. You pulled away and looked horrified. Harry lunged to the floor to grab his shirt, and he tossed you yours. The footsteps and the voices got louder, since they were getting closer. You were adjusting your tie when the door opened.

“Hello Hermione, Ron!” you greeted. You silently cursed them, and turned to Harry, who’s shirt was open since you tore all the buttons off.

“Harry what happened to your shirt?” asked Ron. Hermione rolled her eyes at his stupidity and pushed him out of the door.

“Sorry guys,” she said before closing the door. You sighed and looked over at Harry. He looked completely bummed.

“Remember to lock the door next time sweetie,” you stated. The two of you walked down to the common room. It seemed like the afternoon was moving slower than you’d like; you really just wanted to get to dinner since you were starving. Finally it came, and the day ended just as the week ended. It was now your last day of classes, and you were anxiously waiting the bell in Double Transfiguration. McGonagall was walking around examining your work on changing your ball of yarn into a small kitten. Ron had managed to change the yarn into a ball of yarn with a tail. Yours on the other hand was a cute black kitten, with a yarn tail. Hermione was petting her kitten while Harry’s kitten had yarn whiskers.

“Not bad you three. Mr. Weasley, you should get them to help you with this,” said McGonagall as she walked past you. The bell finally rang and the class emptied to dinner. After putting your things away in your dorm, the four of you left for dinner. You sat at your table next to Hermione, and she got straight away to the gossip.

“Have you noticed Snape being absent a lot lately? I think Voldemort is up to something.”

“You may have a point there. But I’m more concerned about the ferret and the cow, they’ve been unusually quiet,” you said.

“You mean Malfoy and Cho?”

“Yes yes of course!”

“I’m just going to forget all about this during holiday. I don’t want anything interfering with my relaxation,” chimed in Ron.

“Yes, I can’t wait to get back to the Burrow, and the Order. I haven’t seen Lupin for ages,” you said.

“Didn’t you want to talk to Molly about those pictures we found, (your name)?” asked Harry.

“What pictures?” asked Hermione. You looked over at Harry who closed his eyes when he remembered why you were looking at him like that.

“It’s nothing that we know much about now. I’ll fill you two in on the train tomorrow. Thanks a lot Harry,” you added. He smiled meekly at you before turning back to his plate.

The next morning, you packed a few things in your trunk and dragged it down the stairs behind Hermione. After getting breakfast and waiting for Harry and Ron to finish packing, the four of you followed the crowd of other students to the Hogsmeade station. Once on the train, you settled into your compartment and the train was on its way. Hermione didn’t waste anytime asking you about the photos. After you filled them in, they didn’t have much to say.

“Wow…” gasped Hermione. Ron just stared at the floor. “Are you sure of it? I mean how many Novella’s could there be?”

“Not many that I know of. But the girl in the photos looks exactly like my mother, I never forget her face no matter what age,” you said.

“I hope Mrs. Weasley has some good news for you then.” You nodded and turned your attention out the window, you didn’t feel like talking much. A little while later the compartment door opened and just the person you were hoping to see, well not really, walked in.

“Hello everyone,” sneered Malfoy. Ginny stood up right away with Neville right behind her.

“Get out of here, Malfoy!” growled Ginny.

“Is it too much to ask just to have a few words with a fellow classmate?”

“Yes.”

“Ginny, it’s all right. He can’t hurt me here, don’t worry,” you assured her. She looked at you, nodded, and took her seat again. “So what did you want Draco?”

“I just wanted to see how you were doing? Is everything all right with you?”

You frowned at this, “You actually care how I’m doing?”

“Yes, I do.”

“That’s funny, Draco. Really what do you want?”

“I’m serious!” You looked over at Harry who didn’t look convinced either.

“Er I’m doing just fine. Thanks,” you added.

“Well then I hope you have a wonderful Christmas, all of you. I’ll see you later then,” with that he left. Everyone stared at each other with a confused look.

“What was that all about?” asked Ron.

“I don’t know. I’ll be right back,” you rose from your seat and left the compartment. You walked down the hall, peering into every compartment until you found the same blonde-haired boy who was just in yours. You slid open the door and shut it behind you; the three boys stared up at you. “Draco, what was that back there?”

“I really just wanted to see how you were doing, that’s all. Is it that hard to believe that I actually have a heart?”

“Yes.”

“Well then, I’m sorry. Listen I’m not going to try anything during the holidays. I’m actually in need of a rest myself, so you won’t have to worry about anything. Just enjoy your time off, like we all should.”

You took a seat across from him. You couldn’t believe your ears, was he really turning soft? “Are you all right, Draco? You don’t seem like yourself.”

“Well if you’re wondering if I’m still angry at you for whatever it was I was angry at you with, then no I’m not. I’ve realized that it’s my father’s battle, not mine. So I’m going to grow up and forget about it. Let him deal with it.”

“And what about Cho? Didn’t you two have some sort of deal?”

“Oh that, well she doesn’t know yet. But I assume that she’ll still continue to bother you, since she’s so stubborn. I’m sorry for what I’ve done to you, but I can’t take it back now.”

“Okay…” You really didn’t know what to think at this moment. Was Draco really being sincere? “So you’re not going to hurt me or my friends anymore?”

“No I’m not. You know you’re cute when you’re confused,” he added. You raised your brow at this.

“Okay, thanks I guess. I’m leaving. Um have a nice Christmas you three,” you waved at them and went back to your compartment. This was too bizarre. When you returned in your seat, everyone just stared at you.

“So what’s wrong with Malfoy?” asked Ron.

“I really don’t have any idea who knocked some sense into him, but he won’t be bothering us anymore. At least that’s what he told me. He couldn’t make any promises about Cho though, so we still have to look out for her. But Draco…I don’t know,” you stared back out the window contemplating these new thoughts.

“You don’t think he knows anything about Voldemort that we don’t. Maybe that’s why he’s acting like this, because he knows something bigger is coming,” suggested Hermione.

“I’m not sure. I don’t think he’s an official Death Eater yet, but that could be a possibility. But I doubt that could be it. He actually told me that he realized it was his father’s battle, which he really didn’t know what was about in the first place. So he thought it was pointless for him to bother us, so he said he’d stop.”

“I still don’t believe him. I can never trust him, he’s always been so mean to us,” piped in Ron.

“I know, but I don’t think he’s been particularly mean to me alone. It’s mostly you three, I’m just kind of there so I get caught up in it.”

“You’re right, maybe Ferret boy is going soft on you, (your name). Maybe he likes you!” exclaimed Ron.

“What! No, no. That can’t be it. Eww!” you shuddered at the thought and everyone laughed. “Let’s just forget this whole thing. Now we can actually forget it, he told me to enjoy this vacation. So that’s what I’m going to do!” You stretched your legs out and laid your head on Harry’s lap. You weren’t tired but you just wanted to lie down. So you stared at the ceiling and let your thoughts go haywire on you. In no time the train was pulling up into the London Station and the group of you was heading off the train. Mr. And Mrs. Weasley waited on the platform with Fred, George, Lupin, and Moody. As you approached them, someone pulled you aside. When you looked up at the face of the person, your mouth fell open.

“Hello, (your name),” said Ryan. He smiled at you.

“Wha…What are you doing here?” you asked him.

“In your last letter you said you were going to stay with Molly, so I thought that you should rather stay with me. Or maybe just for tonight at least, I think we need to have a talk.”

“You want me to stay with you tonight? Really?” you asked. You couldn’t believe he was here. Maybe he was finally changing.

“Yes, I mean, if you would like to stay. The house is pretty lonely without you home, and I’ve set up a lovely dinner for us!”

“Of course I’ll stay with you tonight!” You turned to Molly and the others. “Is that all right, Molly?”

“Of course dear! He is your Stepfather, you just send us an owl when you’re ready to come stay with us!” She came over and gave you a hug, with Fred and George behind her.

“We missed you, you little troublemaker. We heard what you did to Cho!” said Fred.

“Yes and we couldn’t be more proud!” said George. You just smiled at them as they suffocated you in a hug. Lupin came over and gave you a pat on your back.

“Hello little one. Well I don’t know if I should still say that since you’re getting so much taller! If you don’t watch it, you’ll be taller than Harry!” The two of you laughed as Moody walked over.

“Hello there, nice to see you again, in one piece,” he added. “Hope you’ve been keeping an eye out for things, it’s unusually quiet these days.”

“Yes I’ve noticed that too. Well it’s really great seeing you again, I’ve missed your company!”

“I’ll have to tell you some more of my stories when we get a chance.”

“Yes that’d be wonderful!” He patted your back before moving to talk to Harry. Mr. Weasley came over and put a fatherly arm around you.

“You just let us know when you’re going to come on over. I know the Burrow won’t feel complete without you!”

“I’ll make sure to send one of the owls from my house, and it won’t be for that long, I promise!” He gave you a squeeze before walking off. Finally your friends came over to you.

“You’ve been sending him letters all this time?” asked Hermione.

“Yes.”

“But you didn’t know he was going to be here?”

“Nope, he surprised me!”

“Well be careful, we’ll see you soon!” She gave you a quick hug, and then Ron moved in and did the same. They left you and Harry.

“So you won’t be there for long, right?” he asked.

“No I don’t think so. Not for the entire break of course, but maybe for a few nights. We have some things we need to work out, Ryan and I.”

“Well I’ll send you a letter once I get to the Burrow.”

“All right, I’ll look forward to it.”

“Remember don’t stay for long!” he came in and gave you a loving hug.

“I won’t, don’t worry!” He pulled away, and after looking around real quick to make sure no one was watching you, he gave you a quick kiss.

“I saw that!” shouted Moody. You smiled at Harry who looked a little embarrassed. I guess Harry forget about Moody’s eye for a second. After waving to all your friends, you followed Ryan through the barrier and to his car. He put your trunk in the back and opened the door for you. After a very awkwardly silent drive to his place, you got your things out and settled in. You were up in your room laying some clothes out so they wouldn’t wrinkle when Ryan called you down for dinner. When you walked into the kitchen, it was decked with flowers of all sorts.

“This is nice,” you announced. Ryan turned around to face you and smiled. You’ve never seen him this way around you before; it was odd.

“Well I wanted to make a good impression. Something I haven’t done for you ever,” he added. He pulled your chair out and scooted it in for you once you took a seat. Then he took his seat across from you. A maid brought in the salad, since Ryan never liked the house-elf idea. You ate in silence. The next course came in and Ryan cleared his throat.

“So how is school?”

“It’s great.”

“Doing well I hope?”

“Yes quite well.”

“That’s good.”

“Yes.”

“So I saw you kiss that boy, Harry? Is it?”

“Yes…” you felt your cheeks turn red.

“When did this happen?”

“A couple days before school started.”

“Oh so it’s been for sometime then. Wow, well I’m happy for you.”

“Thanks.” You were getting a little tired of this small talk. You knew what he really wanted to talk about, or what you really wanted to talk about, but he wasn’t getting around to it.

“I’m glad you started writing to me.”

“Oh.”

“Yes it startled me at first, that you actually wanted to talk to me.”

“Really.”

“I enjoy reading them.”

“How come you never write back?”

“Oh well I don’t really know what I would write.”

“If you enjoyed them so much, you could’ve at least let me know that you liked them. Something that simple, but you couldn’t even do that.”

“Please don’t get angry. I’m sorry for not writing back, but I just didn’t think I should.”

“I wanted you to write back, Ryan! Why do you think I spent so much time telling you everything I did every week? I wanted you to actually treat me like a daughter, that’s it!”

“Now don’t shout, (your name). Please let’s just enjoy our dinner and-”

“And what Ryan? I thought you said we needed to talk, so I’m talking. These are the things that I have wanted to talk about for ages. So let’s talk.”

“All right, but after dinner, at least let me enjoy it.” You rolled your eyes and continued picking at your food; your appetite seemed to run away from you. After Ryan had finally cleaned his plate, he looked you in the eye.

“Now we can talk.”

“Okay.”

“When you sent me that first letter I didn’t know what to think. I was actually angry, but I couldn’t discover why. So I let it go, and began to enjoy your weekly letters. I know you and I haven’t gotten along at all these past years. Novella hated that. But I guess now we can put our differences aside.”

“You guess? Ryan I’ve tried so many times to get close to you, but you always would push me away. So I eventually stopped trying. I was ten when you came into my life, and since then it’s been a struggle to even be in the same room with you. It seemed that you could never accept the person I was, the person I am. I’m a witch, so what? You married a witch, and you loved her deeply. Why must you be so bitter towards me?”

“Because she loved you more than she loved me. It’s always been that. And I’ve told you that!”

“But you know she loved you just as much as she loved me, but in a different way. You have to understand that. I was her daughter; of course she’s going to love me. But you walked into her life when she lonely and heartbroken. My father had died just two years when you met her. She was afraid to love you the way she loved him, but she did.”

“I still don’t see why she didn’t tell me at first that you two were witches.”

“Because she didn’t want you to run away like all those other men would! She really liked you; she used to tell me everyday. I swear I was getting sick and tired of hearing it, but sadly I never heard the end of it. She ended up marrying you. Now that she’s gone, you’re all I have left for family!”

“I’m sorry. I’m really sorry for treating you so terribly over these past six years! I regret every minute of it, and I hope you can forgive me.”

“It’s all right, Ryan. I’m sorry for treating you like scum too.” He chuckled at this, which made you smile.

“You must be tired from such a long day. If you want, you can go up to your room.”

“I’m fine here for a little. So are we good Ryan?”

“Yes, I believe we are. Or well I hope we are.”

“Yes, me too.” Ryan got up out of his chair, walked over to you, and gave you a hug. It was awkward at first, since he’s barely touched you before this. But it felt right, finally making amends just like your mother had hoped for. Ryan poured you a cup of coffee, and one for himself, and the two of you talked on the back porch for hours. You filled him in about Harry, and he told you about his work and the weird people he met through your mother. It was quite nice, chatting and laughing about old memories and new ones. Finally you went up to your room late in the night, and found Hedwig waiting anxiously by your window with a letter and a parcel. You unlatched the note from her leg and opened it.

Hey you,

I miss you terribly already! It feels odd that you’re not here with us; it’s just the three of us. I hope Ryan is treating you respectively like he should; I don’t want him hurting you again. I sent along a muffin with Hedwig, just in case Ryan didn’t feed you. You can never be too careful! Send back a reply with Hedwig as soon as you get this, I’m waiting for your reply!

Yours always,
Harry

You smiled as you opened the parcel and found a blueberry muffin, your favorite. You stuffed your mouth while you wrote a reply.

Hello Handsome,

I do miss much as well! It feels weird being here though. Ryan and I talked and things look like they’ll be just fine. We’ve settled any old disputes and even had a few laughs. Sorry if you might get this a little late, but I lost track of time. And don’t worry, Ryan fed me just fine! Besides I know where all the food is in this house, and I always kept a little refrigerator in my mother’s secret cabinet. Thanks for the muffin; blueberry is my favorite! I’ll see you soon, maybe on Monday or Tuesday. Miss you!

Always yours,
(Your Name)

You sealed the letter and sent Hedwig. Then you crawled into bed after a long day. You still couldn’t believe Ryan came to greet you at the platform!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

A/N: Well that's it for now!! But I've already started on the next chapter so that should be up soon!! Don't forget to REVIEW!! :)
